• The Patoranking Foundation will offer 40 learners the opportunity to take part in the ALX Tech Lite programmes at no cost. Upon successful completion of their programme, these learners will have the opportunity of a paid internship with a leading tech company, through the support of the Patoranking Foundation.

• The first 20 places will be offered to learners applying for the June 2024 Tech Lite cohort. The remaining places will be offered at subsequent cohorts in 2024.

• Applicants will be required to apply through the standard ALX Selection process and have been successfully accepted by Midnight GMT on Friday 6th May 2024 in order to qualify to apply.

• Applicants will be required to adhere to the standard ALX Eligibility Criteria in order to be eligible for the Patoranking Foundation Scholarship. This includes:

• Must be 18-34 years old
• Of African origin
• The ability to write and speak English proficiently
• A laptop or desktop computer with access to a stable internet connection

• Successfully accepted ALX tech lite applicants will receive an email invitation from ALX with details on what and how to submit their motivation for the Patoranking Foundation Tech Scholarship on Tuesday 7th May 2024.

• Applicants will be required to submit the following elements by Monday 13th May 2024  in order to be considered for this scholarship:

• Short 250 word personal statement
• 2 minute video supporting the personal statement

• Motivational videos of successful applicants may be used in marketing activities for promotional purposes and all successful applicants will be required to complete a media release authorisation form.

• Successful candidates will be required to participate in promotional activities to support ALX, the Patoranking Foundation, and this partnership. These activities may include events, meet & greets, webinars, or any other activation. These activities may be filmed and its content used by ALX and the Patoranking Foundation for promotional purposes.

• Internship opportunities for successful applicants will be offered at the discretion of the Patoranking Foundation solely. ALX has no responsibility for, or involvement in, contract, remuneration, or any working conditions related to this internship.

• Successful applicants are under no obligation to accept the internship position offered. This will not affect their ALX graduation, or inclusion in the ALX Fellowship.

• Applicants who are not selected for the Patoranking Foundation Tech Scholarship will still be able to participate in their selected ALX programme with administration fee obligations as outlined in the ALX payment terms and conditions.

• Acceptance into the ALX program is a separate process from the scholarship, hence the difference between program costs and administration fee.
• Completing the ALX program does not guarantee an internship.
